Op-Art-Ed at 40: Four Decades of Art at the NY Times.
Check out the link above. It is a 10 minute digital clip where artists and designers at the NY Times talk about how art has been a very important part of the Opposite Editorial section of the NY Times. Many of the artists are very interesting, and quite talented. I value how they came at illustrating editorials from an artistic perspective, which is very unusual in the world of political/editorial illustration/cartoons.
Enjoy.

The Frisbee of Art: How to draw ellipses
The New York Times just began a new series on drawing called Line by Line, aimed at helping the public understand basic concepts in creating and appreciating 2D art. Very simplistic, and not as useful as going to school for art, but I am glad to see something like this brought to the public. Check it out: The Frisbee of Art by James McMullan.

Susan Edwards, founder and director of the Art Attack, contacted me last month for recommendations of KC students interested in the opportunity to teach.
