Field Trip to the Art Institute of Chicago this Friday

We are taking a field trip to the Art Institute of Chicago for this Friday.

We plan on meeting at the train station in Elburn to catch the 9:25 am train to Chicago.  I recommend that you arrive at least 15 to 20 minutes early, as you do not want to get a late start, get delayed by trains/traffic, or get lost finding the train station.

Fees involved will be parking at the station, a day pass to use the Chicago buses, entrance to the museum, and a ticket to Chicago and back.  You may pack a lunch/dinner, or eat when we get there.  We can explore the museum together, or break up into groups.  I will give my cell phone number to those on the trip in case you get lost.

Besides a great collection, there is a special exhibit on propaganda posters from Russia, 1941-45.  So, if you are interested in typography, graphic design, history, culture, politics, this is for you.  If not, there is plenty of art from other cultures, genres, art practices, styles, and time periods to satisfy your needs.

All are welcome.

Hope to see you there.

Please bring your work to KC so that Miles or Carol-lynn can photograph your work during the Month of October.

Thanks

Fall Theatrical Production in need of Artwork for set

A message from Nadine Franklin, Theatre Director at Kishwaukee College:

In preparing for the fall play, we find ourselves in desperate need of art work.  There are three different hotel scenes and three apartment scenes - each needing their own styles of art.  Can you help us in this endeavor of the show?  Of course we will include names in the program, take great care of the works, and give them back promptly once the show closes.  We don't have a budget to buy pieces.  The walls are large and we can show anyone interested the space.

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
The play needs art.  This is an opportunity to help out, promote the arts, and get your work seen.  If you are interested and can help, please contact Nadine Franklin at:
Nadine.Franklin@kishwaukeecollege.edu
Thanks.
